SingTel... Yet another fail.

A slot was allocated for the delivery of my wife's new Blackberry Bold 9700 today between 6-9pm. And yes I got into the first 200 pre-orders and was promised a Jabra Stone.

Fighting the grogginess induced by my cough syrup, I waited up for it.

It is now 10:30pm. No show. No call. Nothing. Zilch. Nada.

I called them up and the poor lady on the other end was lambasted by me when she was not able to provide any updates on the delivery status, claiming SingPost (Another fail-bait) is now closed and unreachable. And I should call them myself tomorrow.

I was like OMGWTFBBQ?!?! YOU WANT ME TO CALL THEM MYSELF??!?! TOMORROW!?!?! TO ASK WHY MY BLOODY ORDER DID NOT ARRIVE YESTERDAY?!?!?!

C'mon SingTel! What the heck happened to you!? It's fun to play with consumers yah? Is that how you run your business?! So customers are just crap to you!?

And what happened to the call I made 2 days back regarding the change of my wife's BlackBerry subscription. "Someone will call you back..." HELLO!?!?! WHERE IS MY CALL BACK?!

Calling them and getting through to the right person is just so damn hard. One department throw to another. We'll call you back... They'll call you back... Someone will call you back. Nope. We really don't want to call you back. Bleh.

This is not the first time and I'm sure it will NOT be the last time! CUT COST CUT COST CUT COST! CUT CUT CUT!!!

CUT CUSTOMERS LAH! I HELP YOU!

The both of us has been a loyal customer of SingTel since 1998 (Started on some SingTel POD Plan) and so are quite a number of our family members. I think I've had enough. I think we've had enough. Enough shortchanging us. We're still paying pretty much the same as we did 10 years back. Nope. More. Now we have to add on the bloody Caller ID for FIVE MORE FREAKING DOLLARS!

ARGH!

I apologized to the patient lady on the other end after my outburst. I know we're all pawns in this big corporate game and she's just making a living. I was frustrated and a frustrated man makes for a crazy man.

I'll supposedly get a call back tomorrow and I think someone will make a feeble attempt with a vague answer and tell me what the heck happened. I will reluctantly accept the explanation which he/she pulls out of a tin of Standard Answers and life goes on for everyone.

So alas, no unboxing to be done today.

Can hardly keep my eyes open... medicine... good nite...

Google Street View in Singapore

Surprise surprise.

I was around Mustafa Centre yesterday evening looking for a camera pouch for my new baby (Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3. Damn good point-and-shoot cam, but more on that in another post) and decided to check my bearings. I'm bad with directions and it's my first trip to Mustafa. Damn suaku right? Paiseh lah.

Whipped out my Bold. Launched Google Maps...

Give me a BlackBerry Bold 9700 and...

1. I will work hard.

I will respond to emails. Even on weekends. On my BlackBerry. I want to be caught wielding this dangerous eye candy in public.

2. I will blog harder.

I travel light. 3 iPods (3rd gen, 4th gen and classic), 1 nano (1st gen), 1 shuffle (3rd gen) and and iPod Touch (1st gen) all working. I don't even have my compact camera (Konica Minolta Xg) or my Sony Camera phone (K810i) tag along when I don't pack a bag. The Bold is all I bring. Tight jeans yeah?

Unfortunately, the original Bold's cam is... not quite up to par. 2 megapixels no autofocus. Absolute crap. With the Onyx's 3.2mp autofocus shots, I can offer gems like this...

OMG. Guzzling coke all these years and thought it's just soda...

(Almost) Eloping with Bliss...

She was with me today... for a fleeting minute.

In that minute, something stirred in us. Time stopped for just the both of us.

Just me, and sweet sweet Onyx.

I gazed deeply into her gorgeous 480x360 screen and slowly ran my thumb up (and down and left and right) her sensitive optical trackpad. Smooth, and welcoming. Reacting to my every touch, I could tell she liked it... and unlocked herself for me sans password.

My thumbs stroked the rough plains across her qwert and pass her yuiop... The sensation across the keyboard ridges was wild... and exhilarating. As she arches her back, the rest of my fingers felt it... her leather sexyback, svelte and sophisticated.

Her frame may be slim and petite, very much like Tour (with whom I spent a coupla days with), but I know she offers so much more!

Me: C'mon Baby...
Onyx: Go away!
Me: Darling...
Onyx: I'm warning you... I know WIFI!

Make her yours and she will give you your well-deserved and undivided attention! Yes! Focus on her and she will autofocus for you with her 3.2mp camera. She's capable of LED flashing for you under appropriate circumstances too. (You perv!)

Other than being a wonderful personal assistant, juggling your mails, taking care of your appointments, playng sudoku with you while you're on your morning potty, giving you fake calls to excuse you from a boring meeting... Did I say enough that she's quite the looker?

Your associates will look on with envy and secretly whisper amongst themselves, in awe of your good fortune to have hired such a beauty (and concluding that you must be the foretold coming of their next great charismatic role model), while their sea of Curves, Storms and the plus-sized Bolds scoff and scorn and pretend to look away, trying not to cry. Tears will be for later, in a quiet toilet cube after the party has ended.

The BlackBerry Bold 9700 (aka Bold 2 aka "Onyx") was in my hands today... for a fleeting minute.

A minute that felt like an instant eternity... erm.. WTF? That's so oxymoron.

Ah crap. I had to give it back to the Research in Motion (RIM) Director. Contemplated eloping with the device. And almost did. But I didn't. And that matters. Cos I'm being a good boy by returning it.

Christmas is just around the corner... *hint* "being-a-good-boy" *wink*


One more thing, the gunmetal band around the device really takes the cake for me. Incredibly sexy. Meteora (aka my Bold aka 9000 aka "Meteor") was weeping quietly in my pocket nursing her scratched silver color plastic band.

Sorry Meteora. I still love you. We're still friends right? Call me.

UPDATE: Our contact from SingTel was unable to give a launch date for the BlackBerry Bold 9700 citing no knowledge of the ETA or roadmap. Sigh. I hope there will be another "SingTel BlackBerry Bold 9700 Launch Party" this time round again like the Bold.
